Heres one to test the memories of you older boys. How many International's have played for the Eds over the years. I have played with a few in more recent times. Frank Wilson - Ireland Vasel Irons - Romania Gilly - Burmuda Craig Quick - Wales colts
But are there any others? Should we have an honurs board at the club? I am sure we have had many a Warwickshire rep in the past and perhaps Regional Midlands reps??

Didn't one of the Warmington brothers play for England at one point. I'm not sure which one.

Didn't Doze Brown play for England at some level?
He certainly played in the Varsity Match as did, I think, Mick Hall - any other Eds get the Blues?

Mick may have been a Cambridge Blue but I don't think he played in a Varsity game because it was around the time he was in a full body cast for a back problem.
According to Dad and APB, Charlie Bloxham was also a Cambridge rugby blue.
Tony Betney was captain of London Universities rugby team and Bob King was captain of King's College's rugby team and also played for London Universities.
Trevor Carris captained Loughborough University when they were THE premier sporting university and the team included international players.
Steve Savage and Dick Moreton both played for St Pauls.
Back to schools rugby .... Several students from KEGS made the national schools team but didn't play for the Eds. They include John Deeming (Terry Savage's year) who captained England Schools and later played for the Nuns, Gunner Cain (Keith Betney's year) who went on to play for Stratford and Geoff Parnell (Malcolm Pluck's year).
Simon Gregory played for England under 19s and Mick Hall played at regional level.
Old Ed's who have represented Warwickshire in national competition (pre-league/Pilkington Cup etc.) include Mick Williams and Roy Jones - both full backs.
Ralph Warmington played for the South West against the All Blacks on the 2nd of Jan 1973 and had the dubious honour of playing opposite Grant Batty. Dad is precise about the date because Roger had just joined him at North Warks Finance and wanted his first working day off to watch Ralph!
Both Rog and Ralph played for Coventry when Cov was still a first class side, but then many other Old Eds have played for senior sides too.

To Be Confirmed, But.......Chris Southall played for English Colleges (fly-half); Mark Sharman (wing) and Mark Wilson (centre) both played for British Polytechnics (i think they toured France and Spain together) i believe Wilson was also on the bench for England U21 against Holland one year); Carl McBean played for Combined Services (wing); Pete Jones (centre) and Andy Ellis (flanker) both played for Welsh Universities. There was also a south african who played a couple of times for the eds, who claimed he had played for S.Africa schools.
