Who can remember the Eds appearance on Rugby Special back in January 1992? They were filming a piece about one of the first female referees and we were hosting her next game: Nuneaton Old Eds 3rds v Coventry Tech 1sts. We won 12-0, thanks to a penalty try (a try was worth 4 points in those days) which I am assuming was converted and 2 penalties. I have just uploaded a video clip which you can view or download HEREThe clip is about 7MB so will take a while to download if you're not on broadband. After watching the clip, who can name the Eds team? I think I can name 12 out of the 15 players on the pitch, I'm not sure if the full-back is ever shown in shot which is why I can't get that one. 3rd team captain and scrum-half Cal Ayres is interviewed during the video, but who are the others? Over to you to fill the gaps: 15 from 15 named 1. Albert Bauer 2. Steve George 3. Ian 'Vinny' Sarson 4. Steve Gunn 5. Paul 'Rammer' Bates 6. Tim Guilfoyle 7. Sean Krauth 8. Steve Harris 9. Cal Ayres (captain) 10. Jez Simpson 11. Brian Williams 12. Dave Scott 13. Kenny Parker 14. Paul Mayell 15. Steve Bird Tries: Penalty Try Cons: Jez Simpson Pens: Jez Simpson(2)

Steve Bird gets in to the scene in the bar as well but I don't think he played.
You can also see Mick "Club Book Model" Martin on the touch line in a very garish coat.
Maybe you're on to something MDP, who can name the spectators?
I can spot Bob Watmore and ex-Eds colt Ash Smith amongst those watching.

I think my Dad played fly half, I half remember him running around with the ball in the opening credits. And looking at the clip there was definately someone running around with the Simpson class! ;D

That's right Tom, your Dad was the No. 10 and presumably kicked the conversion and 2 penalties.
Who else can you spot?

I didn't like to mention Tim, but yes I was the open side, rarely caught on film because of the camera blur caused by my speed to the breakdown

Three more for your total Sean.
The props were Albert Bauer and Vinny Sarson, and one of the second rows was Steve Gunn.

Seeing no one else is replying, how about Paul Mayell at 14.

Right again John.
Veteran of nearly 400 games and still playing today, the right wing was Paul Mayell.
Anyone else out there?
